Grammar point

"They allowed me to have one cigarette..."

What does this sentence mean (2 correct answers)? she could / she couldn't / she had the permission to / she had to.

Try to translate :

Mes parents m'autorisent à sortir.

Ils ne m'autorisent pas à boire et à fumer.

Note : le verbe allow est souvent employé au passif.

Smoking here is not allowed.

Christie was allowed to smoke at home.
