For the , we have , , , , and stuffing, which we all eat together in our dining room. We have a few vegetarians in our family, so we’ve recently started including a stew made with root vegetables.
For dessert, we have a variety of pies, including apple, , strawberry rhubarb, and my favorite: pumpkin chiffon pie, which my dad makes. This is a version of pumpkin pie where the filling is mixed with meringue to make it fluffy.
In recent years, my dad has organized a 5k event on this day that we participate in, which always makes the food feel earned, as it involves running five kilometers early in the morning.
Some of my cousins stay with us . We are also from work and school the day afterward. Sometimes we go somewhere for the day, sometimes we don’t. That night, we always get from an Indian restaurant. I always look forward to seeing at Thanksgiving. It’s always a great reminder that I have all these people me, which is especially important right now.
Your turn (on a sheet of paper).À toi (sur une feuille).
On a sheet of paper, compare Kevin's Thanksgiving with a family celebration you know. Write 8 to 10 lines: what is similar, what is different, and which tradition you would like to adopt (the 5k run? the take-out the day after?).
